Aaron graduated from Carleton University in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Law. He then pursued his Masters of English at Memorial University, graduating in 2010. Throughout his formal education, Aaron worked in landscaping, beginning with lawn mowing and building to the position he enjoys today as garden maintenance manager for a local landscape company. In 2012, Aaron became a Red Seal Certified Landscape Horticulturist.

Aaron was immediately struck by the unique challenges that come with gardening in Newfoundland. The short growing seasons, the wildly unpredictable weather, and the inhospitable geography of this province all present obstacles that will test your patience and skill.

Aaron brings his wealth of knowledge about the local horticulture scene to the team, lending expertise in a consultant capacity and also as a group co-facilitator. He brings over 20 years of experience in leading teams, training new gardeners, managing living environments, and teaching hands-on skills to a diverse population. Together, Maria and Aaron have been offering horticulture-based workshops and group therapeutic sessions for the past 5 years.

When he’s not outdoors working his Monday-Friday job, Aaron still spends as much time as he can in nature. He loves being immersed in the wild and wondrous landscape that is Newfoundland, always alongside his family.
