Taproot Nature-Based Therapy.
Taking therapy out of the office and into the great outdoors.
Our approach
From a place of deep understanding of the therapeutic benefits of nature, our team offers therapeutic services that are rooted in collaboration, connection, and transformation. With a focus on connection with nature, with others, and within ourselves, our evidence-based, nature-based, and neurodiversity-affirming programming supports participants to reach goals, foster creativity, and build confidence.
We offer outdoor pediatric play-based therapy groups, virtual and in-person education, and in-person workshops for local schools, community organizations, and businesses.
Taproot is based in Flatrock, NL.
Nature-Based Therapy
Nature is powerful, dynamic, and sensory-rich. We believe that partnering with nature during the therapy process encourages meaningful experiences, which enhance carryover of skills and learning to everyday life outside of the group therapy setting.
ConTiGO Certified
Our clinicians are certified in the ConTiGO Approach, which is an evidence-based therapy approach implemented outdoors to support children to reach their goals. The ConTiGo approach is based on Connection and Transformation within the Great Outdoors.
Neurodiversity-Affirming
Taproot utilizes a Neurodiversity-Affirming therapeutic approach. This strengths-based approach focuses on empowerment, promoting individual autonomy, validating diverse communication, and creating inclusive environments through environmental adaptation.
